Mini Books: Beginning Sounds (Australian Spelling A4 Paper Printing)

Your emergent readers will love making and reading these beautiful 26 printable mini books. Each book features a letter of the alphabet and commonly used high-frequency words. The sentences featured in each book are repetitive with picture support.

CONCEPTS AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

Phonics – initial sounds
Sight words / high-frequency words
Sentence structure
Book knowledge
Concepts of print
Reading – independent reading, buddy reading, home reading
Fine motor skills – cutting, arranging, stapling, colouring

Booklets have been specifically designed so that there are no paper scraps to minimise mess and trips to the bin.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut along the dotted lines.
Arrange the pages of the book.
Staple the pages together (this part may require adult assistance).
Colour the pictures.
Read your book to a friend.

SUGGESTION:

These little books make fantastic first home readers. They do not need to be loaned and returned. Children can keep their mini books at home and take pride in collecting the whole set. Students will gain extra enjoyment from reading these books to their families, knowing they helped create them.

Love these. The pictures are gorgeous! I love that I've found a mini book resource that prints perfectly on A4 paper. All the pages are the same size when the kids staple them together :) Love the sight words used in these too.

This is such a beautiful resource filled with exciting images and simple sentences for students to learn! Students found it so easy to cut and complete the activity.
